Shakespeare in
Schools

We have developed 3 residencies that empower high school students by getting them up on their feet, forming personal connections to Shakespeare's characters and stories.

Our teaching artists will engage students in the relevance of Shakespeare's works, kindle their enjoyment of these classic stories, and end each 40-minute workshop with a dynamic performance tailored to fit the classroom!

FAQ

  • Why teach Shakespeare?   Because if we have felt it, Shakespeare has written it. Exploring Shakespeare helps students grapple with their own mental/emotional landscape and gives them additional tools for navigating difficult situations.

  • Who will be in the classroom?   Two professional Teaching Artists trained by NGS to visit high school classrooms with our engaging curriculum.

  • Can I book all three workshops?   Yes, you can! Each workshop is a unique, stand-alone experience and features different performances.
